Kerala Shipping and Inland Navigation Corporation (KSINC) is launching a luxury vessel called Nefertiti. It is the first theme ship in India and everything about this is Egyptian. The KSINC unveiled the ship for the media in Kerala Travel Mart 2018. The Kerala Chief Minister Sri. Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurates the luxurious vessel on 29th October 2018 in Kochi. ‘Nefertiti’ is the name of an Egyptian Queen, the wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten. She lived in Egypt during 1370-1350 BC. This mysterious woman was known for her strength and beauty all over the world.
The construction of the ship is utterly in a classical Egyptian model that we can find in the ambience and in the names of the small parts of the ship. Each and every corner of the ship is bedecked with the Egyptian sculptures and ancient Egyptian themed paintings. It also has several features that remind people of one of the oldest civilisations in the world.
It is a perfect place to have a royal class gathering with family and friends. The organizers of the cruise offer a most enjoyable trip to the outer seas. They invite you to pamper yourself with a new level of luxury.
They mainly target groups consisting of 15 people so that they can satisfy the needs of the clients. There will be live performances of the ancient art forms of Kerala as well as of the other states of India inside the ship. The ship is ideal for a six-hour or eight-hour long luxurious cruise depending on the requirement of the client.
The sophisticated facilities make the ship unique. It also attracts the tourists to the city of Cochin, the commercial capital of Kerala. The ship is equipped with a large banquet hall, bar lounge, sundeck, 3 D Theatre, Kids play area, air-conditioned hall, an area for recreational activities and so on.
The restaurant inside the ship offers continental dishes including Mediterranean cuisines. Abad group has been entrusted the catering of the restaurant. In the coming days, it will be a place to host the activities to promote tourism in Kerala, a grand venue for wedding parties and birthday parties and other official gatherings.
The total expense to build this ship is 16.42 crores. Having a length and height of 47.5 meters and 14.5 meters respectively, it has a capacity to afford 200 passengers at a time. It can go at a speed of 9 knots and travel to a distance of 20 nautical miles.
Vijay Marine Shipyard, the constructors of the ship, did a tremendous work to build the most beautiful ship on the Indian coast. It took one and a half years to build this four-star rated ship. The services between Kochi and Kozhikode will also be possible by launching this ship.
The ticket rates to travel on the ship are not yet finalised. As the KSINC priced Rs.350 for the sunset cruise on Sagarani, we can expect an attractive ticket range for Nefertiti also. The timings and rates of the packages will be depending on the requirements of the passengers. The officials say that the vessel is not for any ferrying purposes.
