Fort Kochi Beach
Fort Kochi Beach is a beautiful beach situated in the city of Cochin, Kerala, India. Along the Great Arabian Sea, the beach looks so stunning and always attracts the tourists as well as the local people. It is a must visit place during the Kochi trip.
It is a suitable place to spend an evening with family or friends. After walking around you can watch the breathtaking sunset views. There are comfortable sitting places along the sea. It is a unique experience to watch the cargo ships moving on the sea during the sunset.
There is a granite walkway which adds an embellishment to the beach. The trees and the greenery alongside the walkway gives a serene look. At the one end of the beach, there is a pretty lighthouse. As it is a photogenic place, we can find the people taking selfies all over.

It is a perfect place for shopping as there is a number of small shops situated around. It is recommended to take a walk around the beach so that we can find several tiny handicrafts shops having a rare collection of amazing artefacts.
The Chinese Fishing Nets
The major factor that makes Fort Kochi Beach unique is the presence of the famous Chinese fishing nets. Overlooking the Arabian Sea, it is a wonderful scene. Many fishermen are finding their livelihood from these.
Cheenavala or Chinese fishing nets have attracted the tourists for centuries to Kochi. It is a magnificent view to watch its operation. It will be either at dawn or at dusk.
Its elegant construction is photogenic. It is so interesting to watch the slow movements of the nets to catch the fish. It is possible to take part in catching the fish and there are street chefs available to cook immediately.
Cochin Carnival is a vibrant festival conducted in the Fort Kochi Beach every year at Newyear’s eve. The whole city used to gather there to enjoy the various kinds of entertainments such as fancy dress, fireworks, etc.
We can find many food stalls from which we get seafood, vegetarian food and snacks. So one must visit the beach at this time to enjoy this popular festival.
Best Time To Visit
Best Time To Visit the Fort Kochi Beach is October to March. It is right after the Kerala Monsoons. Monsoons are not a suitable time to visit a beach.
